Correct usage methods for gas masks

usage methods for gas masks

Check before using the gas mask:

  1. Check if the mask has any cracks or openings before use, ensuring a tight seal with the face;
  2. Check the exhalation valve for anydeformation, rupture, or cracks;
  3. Check if the headbands are elastic;
  4. Check if the sealing ring of the filter box seat is intact;
  5. Check if the filter box is within its usage period.

Instructions for Wearing a Gas Mask:

  1. Cover your mouth and nose with the mask, then pull the head harness up to the top of your head;
  2. Use both hands to pull the lower head strap to the back of your neck and secure it;
  3. For a dry mask, please carefully check the connections and the seal of the exhalation and inhalation valves, and place the mask in a clean area for next use;
  4. When cleaning, do not use organic solvent cleaners, as this may reduce effectiveness.

Respirator Fit Test: Test Method

1: Cover the exhalation valve with your palm and exhale slowly. If you feel a certain pressure on your face but do not feel air leaking between your face and the mask, it indicates a good fit. If there is leakage between the face and the mask, you need to readjust the straps and mask to eliminate the leaks. Test Method

2: Cover the connection point of the filter canister with your palm and inhale slowly. If you find it difficult to breathe, this indicates a good seal of the mask. If you can inhale air, you need to reposition the mask and adjust the strap tightness to eliminate leakage.

Repeat the fit tests using Method 1 and Method 2 until a good seal is achieved.
